Postdoc · Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure & Criminology

Dr. Felix Butz

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure (Prof. Dr. Katrin Höffler) at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. My research connects criminal law, criminology, and legal sociology, examining phenomena at the intersection of technology, society, and law. My current focus is on technology in international (criminal) law. Further areas of interest include a socio-legal critique of structural violence in international criminal law, how police and courts handle mass data, DNA analysis, and artificial intelligence, as well as engagement with border violence.
